Now Enrolling for Wild Roots and Moon Caregiver and Me Forest School

At Wild Roots Nature School, our mission is to empower children through immersive, child-led experiences in nature — cultivating resilience, creativity, and a deep-rooted connection to the land, community, and self.

Wild Roots Nature School was born from nearly two decades of guiding children through hands-on, nature-based learning. For the past 18 years, we have had the honor of working with children of all ages, fostering curiosity, confidence, and connection through meaningful outdoor experiences.
Over time, a vision began to take shape — a space where young children and their caregivers could gather regularly in nature, learning through play, exploration, and child-led discovery. Creating Wild Roots Nature School feels like a full-circle moment, weaving together love for the natural world, passion for early childhood education, and the deep-rooted connection we share with the Barron Family and Wild Moon Acres.
In collaboration with Wild Moon Acres, Wild Roots Nature School was envisioned as a weekly forest school program held beneath the canopy of a one-of-a-kind urban farm. Together, we aim to create a space where children and caregivers can grow, explore, and connect with the natural rhythms of the earth — building lifelong relationships with nature and one another.
Wild Roots Nature School is proudly hosted at Wild Moon Acres — a one-of-a-kind urban farm that provides a rich, natural landscape for exploration and discovery.
Each week, families gather beneath the canopy of trees, meeting at the deck or sheltered space before venturing out to explore the property. The farm offers open green spaces, gardens, wooded areas, and natural play environments that invite curiosity and hands-on learning.
Rather than walls and desks, our classroom is the forest floor, the garden beds, and the changing seasons. Children cook in the mud kitchen, build forts, stomp in the creek, observe plant life cycles, and return to their special “sit spots” to listen, reflect, and connect.
The land itself becomes the teacher — offering sensory-rich experiences that nurture imagination, movement, responsibility, and wonder.
